2020

SPIROL offers scholarships based on an applicant's demonstrated commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities and dedication to community service.  In addition to being committed to community service, in order to be eligible for the SPIROL Scholarship, students must have a 3.0 or higher and must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Basic Sciences or Manufacturing Technology.  Scholarship recipients may also elect to participate in paid summer employment at one of SPIROL's facilities.

 

Graduating high school seniors and graduate students are encouraged to apply for up to $20,000 (over 4 years, subject to annual renewal) in scholarship monies towards the cost of college or university education.

SPIROL Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

 

  • Must have applied as (or currently be enrolled as) a full time student at an accredited college or university.

  • Must have applied to a program that is at least 2 years in length.

  • Must have a current GPA of at least 3.0.

  • Must be pursuing a career in:  Engineering, Basic Sciences or Manufacturing Technology.

  • Must have demonstrated a commitment to community service / involvement.

  • Complete application package must be received by Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Note:  Preference is given to applicants whose planned career will positively impact the manufacturing industry.

Please use this check-off list to ensure all letters and essays are properly addressed and included in your application package.

Application Form

 

  • The application form must be fully completed online or download the form and mail the package to SPIROL.

 

Personal Essay

  • What would a SPIROL Scholarship mean to you?

  • Your current educational, career and personal goals.

 

Transcript / Report Card

 

  • Your most recent school official transcript or report card showing your cumulative grade(s) / GPA.

 

Community Service / Volunteer Efforts Essay

 

  • A current-year narrative summary describing the community service / involvement or activities which you have actively participated in throughout the years.

  • Please list the hours and associated year you have participated in each case.

 

Reference Letter, Proof of Community Service /Volunteer Efforts

 

  • A current-year reference letter, supporting at least one of the current year's communicty service events in which you have participated.

  • The letter must be on the individual's business or personal letterhead with their full contact information.

  • Note - this letter is in addition to the letters of recommendation required (below).

 

Personal Summary For each item / activity below, please include associated year of involvement or receipt.

A summary sheet stating:

  • Personal interests

  • Extracurricular activities

  • Work experience

  • Special honors or awards received

 

Two Letters of Reference

 

  • Two current-year, dated letters of recommendation regarding your candidacy for a SPIROL Scholarship.

  • The letters must be on the individual's business or personal letterhead with their full contact information.

Other

 

You may attach other supporting documents such as a resume, certificates, etc.

Submit Your Completed Application

 

Online Application

When your application is complete and you have attached the required documents, click the submit button on the last page of the application. You will receive a confirmation that your application was received and a copy of your submission via email.
